The inital graph is viewed from the side. Time ranges from bottom to top, such that newer publications are above the center and older ones below. If viewed from above nodes farer away from the center have more citations.
Hover over a node to show ID, year of publishing, scientific field and the number of citations according to OpenAlex. Click a node to show an infobox for the publication. This box contains a link to the permanent representation for that publication on OpenAlex.
Click and drag inside the window to rotate the graph. Right-click and drag inside the window to move. Scroll inside the window to zoom in or out.
The menu button in light gray opens and closes the sidebar. To highlight the requested publication you can select "Source edges only". You can select predefined views, change the size of nodes, or parameters of the maximal value for numbers of citations for each node, and radius of the cylinder.
By selecting "Show field overview" a pie chart becomes visible that shows the involved fields and total number of related publications. Hovering over any part of the pie chart shows the relative percentage of the field.

All scientific work is based on referencing the work of others, and will be the reference for future works. Explore these relations by creating your own CitationNet. Or browse some of the existing once. You will need an ID of a paper you are interested in and wait a minute or two. But be careful! If the paper is very popular, the network will be too huge and the search takes a very long time!
